Permit rules
QuotaRequired for all overnight stays at designated wilderness campgrounds. Reservations open up to three months in advance; permits also available walk-up at the Pine Springs Visitor Center.
GroupNo more than 4 persons per campsite; up to 3 campsites per group for a maximum 10-person group occupancy.
Fees$6.00 non-refundable reservation fee per overnight permit plus a $6 per person per night recreation fee. Park entrance fee applies separately.
TransferReservation is not the permit; the permit must be picked up in person at the Pine Springs Visitor Center with proof of identity.
SafetyNo water is available in the Guadalupe Mountains. Wood and charcoal fires are prohibited; only containerized fuel may be used. A landfill-safe commercial toilet bag system is required per person per night.
