Permit rules
QuotaRoughly 300 high-use season permits are issued for the Green and Yampa rivers; high-use lottery applications are accepted December 1 to January 31.
GroupNoncommercial river trips shall include no more than 25 persons.
Fees$15.00 non-refundable application fee plus a $185.00 multi-day recreation/permit fee.
TransferPermits are non-transferable; the permittee must accompany the entire trip and trip leaders must be 18 or older.
SafetyTrip leaders need a working knowledge of whitewater safety; conditions vary with flow and weather.
